My family have been watching your performances every time you are in the area.

YOU GUYS ROCK!

There is a group called RAIN that try to impersonate as well as sing the Beatles songs. They're very good.

Just one thing: YOU ALL ARE FAR BETTER! You don't try to impersonate them in looks....you just sing your little hearts out!

Hopefully, you'll continue coming into our area.

At least the weather was more cooperative! Not too hot and breezy.

THANKS for an enjoyable evening of great music!

And, I thought it was very kind that .. is it Drew?...went and thanked the young ladies of the dancing chorus.

We loved your band in Louisville! Wish you would tour the Midwest some time soon!

Greetings from Indiana,
Hello. We hope everything is going well. I'm the guy who introduced himself as having lived in California. We enjoyed your show tremendously. We see you are performing in California for the next few months so it'll be awhile before we can catch your show again. We hope to see your show again in the future some time. In the mean time break a leg.
May the good Lord bless you.

This is a thank you more than a review. Due to a power outage, they played an accoustic show in near dark. It was awesome. I can't wait for them to get back to the area so I can see them plugged in. Incredible musicianship, vocal harmonies, and the talent to rework songs on the fly in to accoustic tunes was impressive. Just a great show and a must see for me every chance I get.

Thanks again for making what could have been a cancellation in to a one of a kind event!

Dear Guys:

We just wanted to thank you so much for your "lights out" concert in Winters. That was definitely a show both band and audience will always remember! Despite the adverse conditions and lack of amplification, you all poured your hearts and souls into it, and your voices must have suffered as a result. You guys were fabulous. That was way beyond the call of duty -- thanks for a truly memorable concert! The audience loved being a participant and appreciated the special effort you made for us. We'll be watching for your next visit to Winters!

To Whom it May Concern:
A wonderful group of old, dear friends went to Petaluma's Mystic Theater predominantly to see the "Unauthorized Rolling Stones" last Saturday night, February 23rd. That was the main focus of our evening. As a guest of the folks that bought the tickets, I did not even realize another band was playing that night until late in the game.
After a really fun set with "the Stones", I figured I've got nothing to lose by sticking around and listening to a few Beatles' songs. What a double bill.
Oh...my...goodness! From the instant the Sun Kings opened their first song, I was in awe and in a slight case of ecstasy. There was no way I was going to leave that building until the last note! It was every kind of wonderful to hear this music, so near and dear to our hearts, executed with such aplomb. Wow, what a treat!
Thank you, you guys! That was so special. It really did feel like the clock had been rewound and we got to see the Beatles in a small club in the 60's....with all the tingling and infectious excitement. It's no wonder they "caught on". Catchy stuff!
Keep up the great work and stay healthy and keep it all alive. A true treat. I'm spreading the word.

Just a note to thank you so much for an awesome show Saturday night! I am still in an incredibly great mood from listening to you guys play and sing!! It sure brought back alot of memories with each tune you did from somewhere, sometime in my past that I felt I was like daydreaming for days after!

My son is a percussionist in the Jazz Ensemble and I thought it was really cool that you came back today and talked with the class. Music has been a God send for my son who has been in the special ed program all through high school and if it was not for his music and meeting musicians like yourselves to inspire and keep the music alive, his life would have an incredible void. Cheryl Yee Glass will remain close to our hearts for all she has done for our music program and bringing you to SRVHS is just another example of of why she is the best!

I work at an elementary school and have printed and placed your promo pictures on my desk(especially the one on the train tracks! (love trains!) in hopes to encourage the small kids to pick up and play something early on. Andy started the drums at 6 and has grown to be a really great musician and more than anything has so much fun!

I guess Andy let the cat out of the bag today telling you that I loved you guys, but I came away from that show feeling just that! I know...so incredibly sappy but it is Valentine's week, right! (insert red face, giddiness here!)

We are looking forward to going to see you again soon!

My Girlfriend and I just happened to go to Don Quixote's Reastaurant in Felton this past Saturday with the mere expectation of eating a meal. To my great surprise, they happened to be having live music that night, and not just live music, but a cover band of one of my all time favorite groups- The Beatles! I was elated when the first song came on! I had no idea what I was in for, it was such a pleasant surprise-that almost never happens! We ended up staying and purely enjoying ourselves, the music, and one of my favorite things was the crowd that had showed up. Everyone was so into it, dancing and having the greatest time. It made us wonder what stories they may have had to tell. It was fun, and made for an unexpectedly great night- thank you! I look forward to catching another show sometime, and I am forwarding The Sun Kings information to my other friends who are Beatles fans!

Last night I saw the Sun Kings for the second time. I saw them for the first time three weeks ago at the Mystic Theater in Petaluma and was amazed at how good they were. Last night we saw them at the Rancho Nicasio and the show was better than the first one I attended. I was with a group of eight, my wife, a few friends, my brother and his wife and one of my sons and his girlfriend. I was anxious because I had talked so much over the last few weeks telling everyone just how good they were. As we entered and saw the band set up I was sure that everyone would be impressed. As soon as the first song started I knew I had nothing to worry about! The show was awesome! They played two sets for almost three hours. All the songs they played were fantastic. Note for note and the singing was perfect. I even got my wife to dance and that hasn't happened in years! I have never heard a band play the entire second side of Abbey Road live. The Sun Kings pulled it off without a hitch and it was perfect. I smiled and sang the entire time.
I have seen other Beatle tribute bands like Rain, Beatlemania, etc, but the Sun Kings have them all beat! The Sun Kings do not try to look like the Beatles and that really does not matter. The important thing is that they sound EXACTLY like the Beatles! Sounding like the real thing is the most important thing to me.
I highly recommend The Sun Kings to anyone that has grown up with the Beatles and their music. I am now a loyal fan and I will attend every show that I can fit into my schedule.

Kurt W. 9/17/07

Simply the best Beatles cover-band I have ever seen . . . the Sun Kings fully executed songs most bands wouldn't even attempt live. Drew Harrison's vocals were spot on - he channeled Lennon's voice to perfection. Fantastic show!

Katherine F. 8/31/07

I saw the band play last night in Concord and man were they fantastic! They cover the Beatles with perfection! They had the whole crowd up and dancing and when they played Hey Jude oh man the whole crowd was singing! They are fun! I will look for other venues they are playing at!

Steve M. 8/30/07

I've seen the band 6-8 times at various East Bay sites, and tonight's show (8/30/07) at Todos Santos Park in Concord (where they've appeared previously) was by far the best performance I've seen of the lads. The play list was great, basically chronological, and the band sounded tighter and just better than before. They also got the best response I've seen from the Concord crowd. Looking forward to the next show! It's Getting Better All the Time!

Bonnie Raitt 7/29/07

You guys are awesome!

(Right back at you, Bonnie. - ed.)

Playing the entire Sgt. Pepper album could not be an easy feat but you guys pulled it off terrifically Saturday in Monterey. Good Morning Good Morning, with its fierce brass and woodwind instruments and blazing electric guitar solo; the trancey and lovely Within You Without You; the delicate string and harp sounds of She's Leaving Home; and the light hearted and rocking Lovely Rita were highlights.
There were some sound problems -- the unheard acoustic guitar at the beginning of Lovely Rita is one that quickly comes to mind. But the band overall sounded great and the added instruments were a wonderful addition. It was quite ambitious -- that you managed to replicate Within You Without You with the sitar sound and the violins was a minor miracle that you pulled off beautifully. Even Drew's mad stomping around the stage for the benefit of Mr. Kite worked well. Congratulations -- on Saturday you made a Beatles fan very happy.

Mel F. 7/7/07

Great concert. The music was amazing and it was a treat to see the "new" guys perform. The new drummer, Steve has Ringo down. Both Peter and Bill add a lot of talent to the group. Both can really play and Peter can belt it out.

Stay together forever. I never get tried of hearing you guys play. Drew and Michael are always great. Those Michael high notes on Hey Jude were amazing. Drew IS John Lennon.

Good Luck in Monterey.
Are you going to do the WHOLE Peppers album? Wow!!!!! I want to go.

Sara T. 7/4/07

I just wanted to say thanks for such a brilliant show at the Avalon last Friday! Most of the people in my group had never seen or heard you guys before. I kept assuring them that you were awesome and that they'd have a great time and they were not disappointed! It was a perfect way to end a long week and welcome the weekend.
Thank you also for the lovely gift bags. I'm sure everyone who received one was as thrilled as we were with the content. As if the rockin' concert wasn't enough (and as if our necks weren't already killing us from head-banging to "I Am The Walrus" and "Helter Skelter") we spent the entire ride home singing and swaying along with your CD!
What a great party that was! It's always a pleasure seeing you guys. And it's really cool of you to do something like this for the fans. Looking forward to the next show!

Anna F. 6/7/07

I can clearly remember 4 years ago, when I first saw your performance at The Cannery in San Francisco. You left me in awe then, as you still do so today...you guys ROCK..!!!

FABULOUS music, Gi-normous crowd and a wonderful venue at the Redwood City - Music on the Square...what a wonderful way to spend a Friday evening.

Michael, it was great seeing you again with Drew and the guys..!

Please, keep spreading the joy...!

Dave W. 4/16/07

Lads, Lads, Lads. You have done it again. One of my all time favourites 'Not a second time'. I have been waiting for this one for a long time now (actually asked Drew about it a while ago) and I was not dissappointed. You have nailed it to perfection, (as you do with all the songs), and I thank you. This song was so Lennon and captures all the elements of how he wrote and damn it Drew, you delivered with a punch. God bless you. You are truly a one of a kind band and I say that with all sincerity.
I have a great love for the Beatles as the memories go as far back as my school days in England when I was just 14. Now, fast approaching 60 you are giving me the chance to do what I was not able to do then and that is see this wonderful music performed live with all the passion and reverence that the Beatles wrote it with.
Thank you again from one hardcore Beatle fan. I have passed this Beatle love on to my daughters over the years and they, too, love what you do.

The Sun Kings rocked the El Campanil Theatre in Antioch, CA last night. The best thing about this tribute band is they don’t try to look or act like the Beatles – they just nail the Beatles sound (which ain’t easy live) with a lot of talent and with the right gear. Amazingly they cover the full Beatle spectrum from the early years to the psychedelic years equally well. Drew basically becomes Lennon in terms of his vocals and guitar playing while Michael does a very good job of covering Paul’s parts. Great rhythm section with a true “lead bass player” and a drummer that propels the band with that Ringo groove. The lead guitarist does a good job providing the Harrison licks to round out a very authentic Beatle sound – the best I’ve ever heard. I did buy Drew’s two cd’s and I must say it’s a great bargain for the price. He’s the real deal and a serious musician. Keep up the good work lads. Any chance someone can e-mail me the set list for last night? By the way, the El Campanil is an awesome venue – very intimate with a big stage and an excellent sound system.

Debbie A. 10/6/06

You guys are amazing. I saw you at the Kings Head in Campbell a couple of weeks ago and had a blast. I had to leave for Austin TX the next day and was walking down 6th Street when I passed a random music shop. There was a picture of these four guys impersonating the Sun Kings in the window. I got their names George, Paul, Ringo, somebody else. Thought you would want to know. :))

I went to high school with Michael and being able to see you play again was a great time. I remember the Crystal Mist days and between the art talent and music talent – think maybe one was supposed to go to me. Just kidding, you have a reborn groupie Michael. I will see you again soon! Love and hugs,

Last weekend I flew from Pennsylvania to hear the Sun Kings at the Lafayette Arts and Wine Festival. That's a long way to go to hear a Beatles tribute band, and I'm the first to admit that hearing the Sun Kings wasn't the only reason for my visit. The Sun Kings were, however, the catalyst that combined with other factors which worked together to pry a 52 year old former musician out of his recliner and onto a 737 bound for California.

My Sun King excursion was thinly disguised as a reunion with old friends -- bandmates from my musician days. We were a 2/3/4 piece mostly-cover band called Waco, and had played all over the Bay Area, having gotten our start in Lafayette. I hadn't seen most of my buddies since I left the Bay Area fifteen years ago. I had kept in closest touch with Leo, whom I had played with since 1975, and it was he who called me at my home in PA from the bandstand at the Alameda wine festival. "Check this out!" was all he said, and held the phone up to the harmonies of "You Won't See Me". He was wise enough to know that one of the world's original Beatle disciples wouldn't be able to resist such a sound.

A couple of weeks later Leo's lifelong girlfriend, Kathy, emailed me to ask if I would come out for Leo's birthday -- that his favorite band (SKs) would be in Lafayette that weekend, and that my being there would make it all complete.

I was hooked. The thought of being in the company of my brothers in music, in beautiful Lafayette on a perfect Sunday afternoon, experiencing LIVE Beatles music was an irresistible compulsion. It turned out to be one of the best times of my life. My day was a trifecta, in that it was made up of old friends, the perfect environment, and the best music ever made.

I've gone to detail here for the band's sake. The festival emcee made a hubbub about my coming all the way from PA, and it might've seemed like a big hype. I also want to thank the Sun Kings for that afternoon. I've played Beatles music all my life. The subtleties of their arrangements, their harmonies are too often fudged over by cover musicians. It takes work, dedication, talent, and a love of the material to capture what the Beatles had, and the Sun Kings do that very well. Not only do they capture the sound, they capture the spirit and excitement as well.

I've seen Beatlemania and Rain. Both groups were spot on in their performances. The Sun Kings, though, deliver the Beatles with more excitement on a more personal level. Whether they're starting a dance frenzy with "Drive My Car", or simply blowing the crowd away with the power of "I Am the Walrus", they're playing to each member of the crowd individually, or so it seems.

By the way, thank you Sun Kings for "I Am the Walrus". I've always loved the song for its originality and strangeness. I never realized how that song ROCKS. Loved the double start on "I'm Looking Through You", and know that someone out there caught every little background noise and utterance (King Lear stuff, for instance) you lovingly included. And just so you know, Sunday there were four aging musicians in the crowd, brought together by the magic of the Beatles and the Sun Kings. You guys have to keep going, in case we make this an annual thing. Can't see doing it without you! Thank you! Thank you veddy much!

The Sun Kings are fantastic!

What a serendipitous treat it was to discover your band at the Alameda Art and Wine Festival on July 30. My brother Jim and I had visited the festival just to take my grandkids on the pony rides. Your band was playing just as we arrived and we stayed to listen until your set ended. We were very impressed and all of us enjoyed listening to those great tunes from the Beatles era (when music was music). The kids liked it too (maybe more than the pony rides).

I'm looking forward to hearing your wonderful music again tomorrow when you play at the Peanut Butter Jam Festival.

Thanks for sharing your outstanding talent,

Angel K. 9/5/06

Hello Group,

I have to tell you I saw you play this past weekend at the Millbrae festival and you played fantastic, the sound and a couple of your songs that had harmony was excellent, it actually gave me goose bumps. Keep up the awesome sounds!

Peggy T. 8/29/06

I recently had the pleasure of attending my first Sun King's concert and so glad I went!!! I was blown away by the quality of the sound and the voices. I loved the music, enthusiasm and energy of the evening. Families of kids and people through to their 60's were singing and dancing to the band. Performances were spot-on to the Beatles sound. I had a wonderful evening of reminiscing.

Rene S. 8/29/06

I recently heard The Sun Kings at the concert @ Newarks’ Sisk Grove. I’ve always been a fan of the Beatles and now of the Sun Kings. You guys were great. Looking forward to seeing the band again soon.

Lois & Mark M. 8/14/06

My husband and I saw the Sun Kings at the Music in the Grove in Newark this past Sunday. Our only complaint is that we wished their performance was longer. All of the performers are very talented and have fantastic singing voices. If we didn't know better we would have thought we were listening to the Beatles.

Unfortunately, "She Loves You" won over the "Walrus" for the final encore. We definitely want to see the Sun Kings come back to the Grove next year. We'll be there!!!

Sergio C. 7/30/06

I had never heard of The Sun Kings until my girlfriend Kim and I saw you all perform in Emeryville. We loved the performance. You cover their music with near perfection. I just saw you perform again today in Alameda at the Art and Wine Festival and was amazed at the audience response you received at the end of your set. I haven't heard cheering that long in a while. I was also amazed at the diversity in ages of your audience. I saw some young kids dancing and having a great time. Hoping to take my girlfriend to see you again at one of your August shows. Looking forward to a cd of your music in the future. Keep the Beatles' music alive! We all appreciate it!

Steve K. 7/22/06

Glad I found that one can email a review, cause your review page only allows 500 Characters, and I had too much to say, and had to cut back too much, to get it to take. Anyway, my Wife and I were at Suisun Harbor Nights (Jul 21st) concert and all I can say is that you guys are AWESOME. I have been a Beatle fan since 15, when I bought my first LP (Meet the Beatles, which I still own). Also being a drummer myself since the age of ten, I know my music. And you were every bit as enjoyable as watching the originals, which I did get to see at Candlestick in 66, still owning the picture program.

Although the Beatles as most knew them had the four lads, most PPL did not realize at one time there were five, including Sutcliffe. So y'all having five is not a put off. As a matter of fact, your very good Keyboard player makes it possible to do the Beatles later music, that was not really conducive to being played live. Your KB player brings it home. And the vocalist that does Lennon's numbers almost make the audience forget that
John is not with us anymore. The vocals could not sound anymore like John himself. I almost had to look around for Yoko>>>OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH YOKO>>LOL.

Anyway, I never expected to enjoy the evening as much as I did. You guys are the absolute BEST.

Bruce I. 7/9/06

Just want to say that I attended the performance at Bonfante Gardens with out any expectations, cause I hadn’t heard of the Sun Kings. After the first song, I was thoroughly impressed at the talent & ability to recreate the Beatles songs. I could not tell the difference between the Sun Kings & the Beatles, including the show-man-ship. I liked the Beatles, but was more impressed with the Sun Kings being able to recreate the once in a lifetime Beatles without missing a beat. I’m thoroughly impressed, thanks for the performance.

Dan C. 6/5/06

Hey guys –

I haven’t seen you since last summer of ’05 and waiting, waiting, waiting for you guys to play East Bay venues again near Berkeley or thereabouts…but the 2x I”ve seen you (at last years street festival in Walnut Creek and at Cobb’s Comedy…both were outstanding and I can’t wait to see you again and bring my 7 year old who also loves the Beatles!

JH 4/29/06

Have seen the Sun Kings several times now and make sure I catch their show whenever they are in Sacramento. Have seen other bands, 1964 The Tribute , Rain, The Fab Four, etc. What I love about the Sun Kings is their gritty style and penchant for playing the more obscure Beatles songs. I think the quality of their musicianship allows them to tackle the more difficult studio songs other bands may not include in their repertoire. (Love note to band member edited to protect the not-so-innocent.)

Larry O. 4/18/06

I am pleased to say that I was able to hear The Sun Kings performance at The Little Fox Theater in Redwood City on Saturday night, April 14, 2006. What an awsome show and sound that I saw and heard. Very professional and great sounding tribute band!! This band pays attention to details and has a great act. I highly recommend seeing one of their shows, especially if you are into the fab four! Great job guys!!! Looking forward to seeing you again soon!!! The drummer, Steve, has got it "dialed in" when it comes to playing like Ringo! Good Stuff!!!!

Ardell H. 4/17/06

...and the sun drove the rain drops away...

Ok - a few drops might've snuck in but the virtual sunshine seemed to evaporate any notion of rain. Holy cow - this was a fun show! The Sun Kings freakin' smoked the house - incredible!! And they were a great bunch of lads to boot!

After the show it was clear that a "word for the day" was in order - and that word is: Evokageness (pronounced 'ee-vok-idg-ness')

Great job guys!!!!

Laurel R. 3/29/06

You guys are phenomenal! You sound so much like the Beatles that I closed my eyes during the show and almost believed I was at a Beatles concert. I was moved.

Here's what happened. My mom bought your concert tickets for my husband's birthday, because he's a huge Beatles fan. I went along as his date, not particularly a fan. I was born in 1965, and always thought of the Beatles as old music, before my time. But at your show I was, as your Paul called it, converted! I did indeed wait around to meet the guys after the show, because seeing you live, hearing the music that way really changed my entire feelings about the Beatles' music, and I wanted to thank you in person.

By the way, we live in Stockton and came out to Antioch just for your show. I got on your email list, and I hope you will please let me know when you will be somewhere out here or Sacramento. We have some great theaters here in town, I hope you'll come. Thanks again!

Ed S. 3/26/06

Lads,

I caught your show last night and you guys are excellent! Your attention to detail and dedication in capturing the Fab Four’s original sound stand equal to the best Beatle tribute bands I’ve heard. I liked everything but especially was impressed with your Rubber Soul material like Norwegian Wood and Drive My Car, Strawberry Fields, I Am The Walrus, Sgt Pepper/With A Little Help From My Friends, and Golden Slumbers/The End. I’m so glad we have a local band in the Bay Area with the caliber of Beatles musicianship that you guys display. I will surely spread the word among my friends and co-workers to catch your next few gigs!

I play part time in a Hawaiian/island music group and am trying to incorporate some Beatles songs in our repertoire. I did some with our other guitarist as a duo in a Benicia venue called First St Café last week for the first time and it was really great to feel the extra joy of playing them for people who these songs also hold special meaning. Though we don’t have quite the caliber of musicianship you guys have, I am highly encouraged to keep on keeping the music alive in any way I can. I made the pilgrimage to London/Liverpool last August for the first time after realizing I wasn’t getting any younger and needed to fulfill a lifelong dream. After hearing all the bands at the Cavern and other venues in the city that week, I can say you guys can hold your own with the best groups that come there to play year after year. I hope you guys can get to do that someday.

Hope to catch you again soon! Well done and keep on keeping on!

Kelly 3/24/06

Hi, my name is Kelly Ingles, I saw you on Friday March 24th on UPN 31. My daughters and I thought you were GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We LOVE YOU Drew!!!!

Donna A. 12/5/05

…happened Saturday night when I attended my first Sun Kings gig. We (5 couples) had SO much fun dancing and singing along. There were so many Beatles songs I couldn’t believe that I remembered all the words to! Our friends who invited us are avid fans of the Sun Kings, and have been trying to get us to go hear them for some time. I wish we hadn’t waited so long. These guys were true professionals, and more than did justice to the timeless music of the Fab Four. It was like taking a time trip back to the 60’s and 70’s. Their sound was awesome, their stage presence engaging, and they gave us far more than our $10 cover charge!! The music sets would go for an hour, take a quick break, then be back on stage for another solid hour of music. We gave out before they did, and had to leave before the end of the show.

Way to go, guys!! Thank you for a wonderful evening out. I can hardly wait until your next visit to Campbell in February. We’ll be there!

Mary G. 11/25/05

Wow!!!
It's always a pleasure to hear you guys perform! Thank you all for signing my " Sergent Peppers Lonely Heart Club" Album when I saw you at The Kings Head. Keep on Keepin' it real!!!!
I hope everyone had a Groovy Thanksgiving.

Pat & Rick C. 11/7/05

I was absolutely blown away by the band. I heard them for the first time on November 5th and it won't be the
last time. They have a dedicated fan who is broadcasting to everyone who listens how dynamic they are. I have told my friends that we definitely have got to go there for great music and good fun.

I have never seen such energy, and it was a magnet for the audience. The audience was on their feet with the first song and wanted more, they got it.

The Sun Kings are very talented, not only talented but really nice as well. What a great combination. I watched them onstage and they were even having a great time. Michael and Peter were "camping" it up a little. It was great.

Don't stop....let me know when the CD comes out.

Tim K. 10/24/05

HOWDY TO THE KINGS!

I SAW & HEARD YOU GUYS PLAY IN DOWNTOWN SAN JOSE RECENTLY @ THE DIABETES WALKATHON AND YOU WERE “ON”

TIM IS AN EXCELLENT ADDITION TO THE BAND IN THE “GEORGE” CHAIR; KEEP ROCKIN, TIM!

STEVE (“RINGO”) HAS BEEN MY MAIN MAN ON THE DRUMS FOR OVER 30 YEARS; HIS VIRTUOSITY & TASTE ARE UNRIVALED AMONG THE MANY PERCUSSIONISTS WITH WHOM I’VE PLAYED OVER THOSE MANY YEARS

IN CLOSING, KEEP DOIN WHAT YOU’RE DOIN AND I’LL CONTINUE TO REMEMBER THE KINGS TO ALL WHO PASS MY WAY.

William B. 9/16/05

I am generally opposed to "CRITICS REVIEWS" but I feel I must send this. In 1965 I saw The BEATLES at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. I was a wee lad of 11. In 1966 I saw The Beatles at Candelstick Park in San Francisco. In 1975 I met Paul McCartney in Long Beach California for the VENUS and MARS release, don't want to go into the details to much as to how I got there. Saw McCartney in 76 at Cow Palace with Wings, saw him again in Berkley, Las Vegas, and the last time in San Jose. I think I know BEATLES. I grew up with them. Now I find myself working and living in Santa Cruz County, CA. I have seen the SUN KINGS at Henflings and Don Quiotes. I can close my eyes and it is " THE BEATLES" I will go see them whenever possible in this area. I have talked to them about "THE BEATLES" and their music. To look at them is a different story, but what are you going for looks or MUSIC. I want music. Keep up the good work LADS. Come back to SC County soon. I will be going to se "SIR PAUL" this year. Everybody go see "THE SUN KINGS" you will be amazed. "TURN OFF YOUR MIND, RELAX AND FLOAT DOWNSTREAM" it is worth seeing.

Cathi M. 9/15/05

For new fans; If you don't know how these guys entertain a crowd let me inform you!! I can assure you they are the hit for ANY PARTY!!! I had guests arrive between the ages 0 to 86!! And even those hard to please tweeens and teens!! A surprise party you say?? Well for as long as i have known these fine lads, I never knew how long they could keep a secret!! I do now! Thank you for the best birthday of my life!! u know who!! xxoo.

Michelle K. 9/14/05

I just saw The-Sun-Kings at the Capitola Art and wine festival last weekend. Let me tell you, they were AWESOME! It was the best part of my weekend! I caught them in the middle of the set and I was upset I missed the beginning but none the less it was great! Everyone and I mean everyone was dancing like no one was watching. The vibe was so intense! I had never heard of them before and I sure was missing out! If I can just tell everyone, if you ever get the chance to see them DO IT!!! You will not be sorry!!

Kat 8/28/05

I saw your show for the very first time today.  You all did a wonderful job.  It was a real treat to hear Paperback writer done live.

I can't wait for you to return to the Sac area.

Sharon C. 8/26/05

I was very lucky enough to attend a free concert at Central Park in San Mateo on Thursday, August 25, 2005.  The group was simply wonderful......I could not get enough.....I was as high as a kite (and no drugs at all) when the concert was over.....I felt 19 years old again.  I love you guys.  Thanks for the wonderful time.

Sharon W. 8/5/05

I just want to tell you what an amazing time I had at Chris and Anna's wedding. You guys were absolutely amazing and although EVERY event over those four days was spectacular, that was my favorite day. It was so
relaxed and I thought you all were fantastic. Please come to St Louis some time !!! Good luck with your future plans.

I recently saw an ad in a neighborhood paper about a band playing at Britannia Arms, a few miles from our home.  I talked my girlfriend into dropping by for a drink thinking “how could you go wrong watching a Beatles tribute band”.  After that night, I think that description is unfitting.  This ISN’T a band just playing Beatles songs in a “tribute” format.  This is something different and I can’t find a phrase or description for it.  I’ve seen Beatlmania, Rain, Santa Cruz’s White Band Ensemble and other “tribute” groups throughout the years.  They were definitely THAT.  You didn’t walk away with anything other than some reasonable and often very good renditions of Beatle songs.  The Sun Kings have dug into something else that makes this band’s performance riveting and takes your thoughts off “tribute” and into “performance”.  Their renditions, being so true to the original artists, make this work beyond belief…really!

I don’t think the Beatles did much touring with their expansive repertoire of songs as they got too big, too quick.  But I don’t see where you could get much closer to what it might have been like had they been “unknown” and played out their work during the 60’s and 70’s in small venues.  I brought 11 friends and family to the June 4th show at the King’s Head and didn’t find one of them that did not feel a similar reaction.  As you wait for the next note you are so familiar with over the past 40 years you are not disappointed:  It will be there, true to form.  What a band!

I look forward to many more shows!

What a super show. I loved the opening with HELP ! ... all the way through the end of the 2nd set. Would have loved to stay for the 3rd set but driving back to Palo Alto for an early work day the next day had to take priority.  Hopefully I can catch the Sun Kings at a future summer gig. As an experienced guitar & keyboard player I have a particular appreciation for the amount of time and skill it takes to replicate the fab 4 so 'fab-ulously'. The last time I heard some of this music played live was when I saw the Beatles playing live at the Memphis, Tennessee Coliseum on August 19, 1966. Thanks Sun Kings and you definately 'passed the audition' !

Kathy P. 4/9/05

I am a huge Beatles fan, and so I have been checking out Beatles' tribute bands for many years. Up until about a year ago, only one tribute band held my heart and full devotion. Then my friend dragged me kicking and screaming to go see a Sun Kings show. I went in with all of the skepticism I could muster, prepared to see yet another mediocre attempt to recreate the music of the greatest band of all time. About 3 songs in, my skepticism began to waiver a little. By about 8 songs in, I began to tap my feet and clap my hands a bit, and by about 20 songs in, I was on my feet dancing, having fun and fully appreciating just how amazing these guys are! I walked out of Marilyn's in Sacramento singing mighty praises of The Sun Kings!! We even brought friends of ours who are in a Beatles' tribute band of their own, and now they cannot stop talking about how much they admire the talents of The Sun Kings! My friend Donna and I have not missed a Marilyn's show ever since. We are looking forward to catching a show in their home turf of the Bay Area sometime soon. Otherwise, we will see you at the brand spankin' new Marilyn's in June!

Roger C. 4/7/05

The Sun Kings are the real thing. I can't believe how well they sound. It sounded like I was at a live Beatles concert if I closed my eyes and floated downstream. A SOLID 10 to Raul for his superb performance on "While my guitar gently weeps". The voice renditions were all very well done. I'll be seeing you at future gigs.

Chelsa A. 4/4/05

I was introduced to the Sun Kings back in November, and I can’t seem to get enough of them!  These five guys seriously are the greatest Beatles cover band ever!  I swear, if you close your eyes, they ARE the Beatles.  Drew BECOMES John when he sings, and even looks like him once those glasses are on!  Michael has Paul down, even the screams!  WOW!  Peter rocks the bass like no other!  Raul makes that guitar weep like crazy.  Steve does a great job filling Ringo’s shoes.  The harmonies are incredible, and these guys sure know how to put on a great show.  Thanks Sun Kings! I LOVE YOU ALL!!

R.P. 4/3/05

Thanks for an amazing show @ The Fox Theater last night! We had the best time! Can't wait for the next show.

Steve S. 4/3/05

Hi Guyz,
Saw your show last week in Felton with my three sisters. We all agreed that your band is very good. I have been in a few bands myself through the years and have a good ear for music. If there is any criticism to give at all, I would direct it to your sound man. I have seen many an excellent show ruined by too much volume. I believe that your sound man that night gave generally a good mix of instruments and vocals. The mix became unstable at times though, with the vocals too loud. Other times the vocals were not loud enough. Please do not be offended by my e-mail. I am only telling my one opinion, and this opinion is given because you guyz ROCKED!!! I now reside in Nebraska, but I will spread the word here in the Midwest about the SUN KINGS. Thanks for one helluva show fellas. Your talent is shining this summer. Best of luck.... and..... ROCK ON!!!!

Mack R. 3/31/05

I was in San Francisco in October of '04 and just happened to catch you guys performing at the Cannery. I was walking by when I heard "Glass Onion" I believe it was, and I thought to myself man these guys are ambitious. I had to stop and listen. You were outstanding!  I was hurled way back to 1969 when you did the whole second side of Abbey Road. You guys are the best Beatle Band there ever was.  I wish you could tour over here on this side of the country. Thanks Sun Kings for a trip back like I have never before felt. Raul as a guitar player I really enjoyed hearing you play.  Guess I'm gonna carry that weight a long time.

Yolanda 3/8/05

I saw you guys on Saturday 2/29 at the Kings Head. Thank you for playing "Yes It Is." Your vocals and your harmonies were perfect. You sounded beautiful............Peace & Love,

Kathie B. 3/3/05

I recently saw the Sun Kings perform in both Sacramento and Campbell and I have to say that they are the BEST Beatles cover band ever!!!  In fact, if you close your eyes you would swear that Drew is John Lennon!!  The shows were amazing, but I have to say that The Kings Head is almost too small of a venue, it was wall to wall people.  I have seen this band about 10 times and almost feel like a groupie!  I would see them anywhere!!  I have turned on a bunch of my friends and they are now "groupies"!!  Keep up the great work and keep having fun.  I think that is why they are so good, they truly enjoy what they are doing and that is key.

From a loyal fan in Roseville, CA!!!

Matt S. 2/15/05

I was at Marilyn's for the show last Saturday and thought that you guys were phenomenal.  I have seen you every time at that venue but it just seemed a little more passionate this time.  Drew, you left it all out there during Yer Blues.  Thanks for everyone's effort.  You guys are great!

Tim K. 2/3/05

GREAT JOB LAST SAT NITE @ THE KING’S HEAD PUB! MY SON, NATE, & I ATTENDED OUR 1ST (AND NOT LAST!) SUN KINGS SHOW AND WE WERE BOTH VERY IMPRESSED. BEING MUSICIANS AND ARDENT BEATLES FANS, WE COULDN’T HELP BUT SING BEATLES SONGS ALL THE WAY HOME! KEEP ON KEEPIN ON & I’LL DO MY PART TO SPREAD THE GOOD WORD ABOUT THE MAGIC OF THE SUN KINGS!

Jessica L. 2/1/05

The Sun Kings always put on a great show.  I look forward all month long to see my favorite live band play my fave music and  dance the night away.  I have met many new friends, including the members of the band.    I usually attend the show at the KINGS HEAD in Campbell.  Almost without fail, it is the best show in town.  The Kings Head has hosted some very memorable Sun King's shows, I must admit that the venue is too small.  Maybe if there were more south bay shows, there might not be so much aggression on the dance floor.  Hey,I LOVE YOU GUYS !!   Of course, I'll check guys out at the Brit, in Almaden.  Maybe there we can all dance without the fear of kicking over a boom, a monitor, or the same fans who are becoming more  and more physically aggressive.  Thanks guys!!   YOU GUYS ALWAYS SOUND GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Parker J. 1/18/05

I had the pleasure of being invited to a Sun-Kings performance at the Little Fox Theatre, in Redwood City, on January 8th, by a longtime girlfriend. (Kristine K.) Yes Raul...that silver-hair, in the balcony above you, was me! And I'm not even 64!
I must concur you guys are "spot on." As a former member of a former Stones, Who, Yardbird cover band...I know how difficult Beatle harmonies can be. The Sun-Kings have it nailed down. I think they sound better than the Beatles ever could have sounded, live and in concert! The synthesized key-board artistry that Michael Barrett lays down, is the key to the whole sound. And what an awesome sound! Drew Harrison, are you sure you're not the re-incarnation of John Lennon? Where's Yoko? Peter...you've got Paul's bass runs and moves, down...and you can sing like Ringo too! Raul....you're going to jail for impersonating George...the summons is in the mail! Steve...you're making Ringo proud! Understated beat...without being showy..the perfect percussionist!
Thanks for a great evening...I stayed for the whole night...then caught my 6AM flight back to Alaska!

Good Licks to you all,
--Parker

John M. 1/18/05

Saw the show last Friday, January 16 at Grant and Green. First time I' ve seen the new bass player and drummer. In the first set the bass player was a bit too loud. While it is true the Beatles were a rock band with strong R&B roots, more than anything they were a vocal band and the vocals are sacrosanct which means band volume has be subordinated to the vocals, which in turn means everyone has to listen to what's being played and projected. The bass player eventually figured it out and made the adjustment. Having voiced that criticism, I have to say you guys play a huge catalogue of finely arranged stuff which is a lot to remember. The drummer sounded fine. I don't remember anything remarkable one way or another, which is good. I did notice two things about your Paul McCartney vocalist (I don't know your names). First he really has mastered a lot of the nuances of Paul's vocal, as has your Lennon singer who is great (as Lennon was). But as the night wore on, it sounded like the Paul singer was tired and having some difficulty delivering full voice on all the vocals. It made me wonder how the Beatles could play all night in Hamburg but then they were very young with lots of energy reserves. The above is probably more than you wanted, but there it is. Keep up the good work. Grant and Green was packed to the rafters. I"m not saying you should, but I bet if you charged a $5 cover the place would be just as crowded.

Dennis 1/9/05

Just saw the band for the first time Sat.(Jan 8th) with no previous knowledge about them. Their Beatles renditons were fabulous. Even the songs which are complicated and difficult to play were great. You can't help but feel good and get "into it". Hire these guys if you want to insure a good time.

Ignacio A. 1/9/05

Let me just start off by saying that I am A HUGE beatles fan. I may not know the day they broke up, or Ringo's birthday, But I know their music, and let me tell you, The Sun Kings did a GREAT job in keeping with the sound and spirit of the Beatles! the band members are friendly, and down to earth guys! If you are a Beatles Fan, you MUST attend a Sun Kings show. you will be amazed!!

Bobby Q. 12/30/04

This is a can't miss show, you have never heard a more responsive audience singing along to this music! just close your eyes and you've got the Beatles right in front of you. Of course I'm a little biased because the lead guitar is my "little" brother, but so what! thanks for the Beatle memories!

Dave W. 12/20/04

Well, lads you did it again. Another 'sacred' night with the Sun Kings. Listen people out there. If you are viewing this site for the first time and have not seen these guys play, do your selves the biggest favor and go see them. They are a must for any and every Beatle fan/affectionado. And the nicest, humblest guys you could wish to meet. When you hear them do the 'Walrus' with Drews incredible vocals and Michaels superior keyboard work, you WILL be amazed. All the songs they do are so great but 'Walrus' personifies their attention to detail and sheer love for the Beatles music. I have loved the Beatles since I was a young 14 year old in England and this is the best I have ever heard, and I have heard a few 'Beatle bands' in my time.. Keep it up guys you keep us in a time when it was fun and the music transcended all.

Santa Cruz Sentinel 12/2/04

A nice writeup that preceded the Sun Kings show at Henfling's can be found here.

Nathan E. 10/29/04

You guys are awesome.  Please play more night shows in SF.  You guys are too good to play to shoppers and tourists at the Cannery.

Mindy M. 10/27/04

Hello to the Sun Kings,
I was just recently to one of your shows at the King's head. This was the first time I had seen your show, and I was very impressed. When the first song started I was floored with similarities. I was next to a bachelor party and they were all from the U.K. they were making comments like, "Tell the band that from a bunch of Brits, they sound great",and,"Don't they make you proud to be British!". Through the whole show the entire place was on their feet dancing and singing. I had a great time and I will definitely be out again to see you all. As a matter of fact I have a friend coming from back east that is eager to see you play. He is the biggest critic of Beatles cover bands, but I know that he will be just as impressed as I was. Thank you for a great evening and thank you for keeping the Beatles alive in the music scene, and in the lives of so many people.

Jessica L. 10/17/04

Always a great time.

Penelope H. 10/5/04

Saw you guys at the Cannery this past Sunday. Awesome! I think it was the most fun we had all weekend in SFO!

Jerry 9/22/04

I had never even heard of you guys before, until I heard a blip on NPR radio a couple of days before the Concord show. I bolted up from Hayward at the last minute and caught the second set and was blown away! Since then I've seen you in Alameda and Oakland. You guys are TERRIFIC!!! Looking forward to seeing you again and again. See you at Blake's in Berzerkely on Oct. 2!!

Bill W. 9/15/04

My wife and I saw you guys at the "Peanut Butter Jam" in Alameda last Sunday, Sept 12.  You kicked it good.  We've seen you a few times before, but it's sounding tighter every time.  The orchestration and sound effects were right on it.  You guys seemed to be having as much fun as the crowd was and that made it even more fun for everyone.  Keep it up.  It doesn't hurt to be playing the best music ever made, does it?

Carolyn M. 8/29/04

Another "heartfelt" gig by you guys in Palo Alto..  I hope others feel as I do the appreciation for your commitment to the music and your dedication in your performances.  After the two hour 90 degree heat show and then to pack up and move to the "city" for another show the same nite...  amazing... really amazing!!  I truly am in "awe" of this band!  Please never stop...  Thanks again.  You make me so "happy".

Kristine K. 8/29/04

Hi Guys,
I just happened on the Palo Alto Art Festival yesterday and caught your last two numbers.  I was in tears of joy hearing my favorite Beatle John and listening to the music live. I was very bummed I missed the show.  I will go and see one of your next shows, that's for sure.  I'm 52 years old and grew up listening to the Beatles.  This afternoon the film "Imagine" was on, made my day.  I hope I can get thru your show without crying my eyes out.  It was very emotional for me yesterday to hear the music live and to see someone sing and look so much like John.  It's a good kind of emotion.  Those were good days. I named my son Julian 19 yrs ago when John's son came out with his first album.  So glad I found your website too.  The music was fun to listen to.  Anyways, I think you guys sound great, such a tight band.

Bill B. 8/23/04

My wife and I saw your show at HENFLINGS in Ben Lomond on Saturday night.  I have seen the Beatles two times, seen McCartney four times, met him in 1975 on the Queen Mary in Long Beach for the release of Venus and Mars.  I have seen Beatlemania.  So I have an opinion about your band.  All I had to do was close my eyes and it was the Beatles.  That said when are you coming back?  We loved your show.

Jenny L. 8/23/04

saw you guys at the alameda art and wine festival, the sun kings kicked ass, you guys rocked. i had so much fun, and me being a beatles fan, it was great, the whole band is so talented, all of their energy is great. cant wait to go to more shows. thanks again for a great show.

Dave W. 6/23/04

Finally saw you at a different venue (Pleasanton on Fri. 6/18) and once again you delivered the goods. Excellent. I was listening to people around me saying things like, 'these guys are great' 'wow sound just like the Beatles' 'how come we haven't heard of them before' etc etc. My little family just loves you guys and we try bring new recruits whenever we can. Keep up the good work and we will be forever in your debt for keeping this incredible catalog of music so very much alive and fresh in our ears.

Claude P. 6/22/04

i was the guy who was selling raffle tix at the kids day event last weekend. your band was outstanding. besides nailing the beatles, you were great with the audience. also, thanks again for being so flexible with respect to the raffle interruptions. i will check your web site and hopefully catch you guys somewhere. also, you are on the top of the list if i need a really fun band.

Christine E. 6/20/04

Had a great evening at the Main Street Brewery in Pleasanton (6/18) and heard you for the first time. You were great!  The place was really packed with people that were all obviously enjoying the music very much.  I even ventured out and had a dance- the first in many years-as I just could not resist the great beat.  Quality musicians and quality music- the perfect combination.  My only problem, when are you going to play there again or at least in this area?  All your other gigs are too far away.  Please come back to the Pleasanton area soon, I am sure all of us at the Brewery will give you a great welcome.

Carolyn M. 6/19/04

Well.. what can I say...  love you guys...  saw you again in Pleasanton!!  Your sound is too awsome..  'Gently weeping Raul...  : ) !! '    The band is great..  Im addicted.. : )

Melissa O. 5/3/04

We need The Sun Kings! It's fantastic to see a band who not only has great musical talent but also likes and respects one another. You give off an awesome vibe that all of us in the audience can actually feel. Maybe that's why you guys attract such fun loving people ;) You're all so fun, friendly and personable that we keep coming back, wanting more. By the end of the night we are so emotionally high from your energy, it's impossible to try to leave! We can't miss a show now, you've got us addicted.

Bob and Connie Lundy of San Mateo 4/15/04

You guys fall in the catagory of " how can we be so lucky to have these guys playing for us ". I've seen your show at Grant and Green. Three and half hours, 50 to 60 songs and no cover ! ! ! Best of all, though, is the way you play the songs. I played a tape of the show for a savvy musician friend of mine and he thought he was listening to The White Album. Drew, Michael, Raul, Alan, Tony and Bob, thanks now and forever for this experience you bring to us. Hope to see you soon and many times again.

Dave W. 4/5/04

Once again you triumphed. It's like these songs come to you and you flow with them, with ease. Always a pleasure and always worth the trip in. Your incredible talent is exceeded only by your very down to earth personalities and relaxed delivery. You warm to the crowd and the Kings Head Campbell loves you guys.

Greg H. 4/5/04

Dear Sun Kings,

Thank You for your incredible performance at my birthday party in El Dorado Hills. I have seen you before and know how good the band is. My guests who have not seen you were "blown away". Everyone is still talking about how real the Beatles sound is reproduced by the Sun Kings. Can’t wait to see you guys again.

Anon 2/29/04

caught the 2/28 show at I32's; it was very good!!!...i especially liked"tomorrow never knows"&"i am the walrus"&"the night before"!!!...thanx too, for mixing the sound just right, and NOT making it TOO LOUD, which was the case at another excellent tribute band's recent show (name omitted - Ed.), that drove us out of the place after only a couple of songs!!!...also, how 'bout playing in the east bay sometime, like at blake's in berkeley(they have a lot of tribute bands play there), so we can stay late, and not have to leave the show early to catch the last BART home.

Bruce Bellingham in the San Francisco Examiner 2/11/04

Friday's noontime show on the Tower Records roof by the Beatles tribute band, the Sun Kings, was a joyfully noisy thing. Robert & Christine Warren were swaying in the parking lot. "I remember it like yesterday when the Beatles came here 40 years ago," Irish-born Christine sighed. ...
I liked the five construction workers in hard hats across the street on the roof of the Marriott, dancing, waving, whooping and hollering. ... KFRC's Cammy Blackstone ... Dean Goss and Bobby Ocean were there. Channel 5's Roberta Gonzalez was getting down to the music. KGO's Don Sanchez was getting up to the top of Tower by cherry-picker. A fun moment. ... On Monday, Strange de Jim heard Letterman mutter, "Forty years ago tonight The Beatles performed on this very stage. Now look what you get." ... Yes, look what we've got. ...

Tom & Laurie M. 2/9/04

Dear Drew, Michael, Raul, Alan & Tony,

We spent a wonderful evening at the Kings Head Tavern on Sat. 1/31/04.  You guys truly are the best we've ever heard!  Being Beatles fans since 1964, we've seen a lot of tribute bands, including "Rain", but you guys are better!  I closed my eyes and I would have sworn that John Lennon had returned from Heaven!  Drew not only resembles John, but the voice tone is perfect.  The harmonies were excellent and took us right back to our teens.

As I grew up in the neighborhood with my old friend, Tony P., I watched him play to Beatles LP's for hours on end.  Beatles music was his great love.  I"ve followed him over the last 40 years, as he played with various bands (even Country), but he really shines with The Sun Kings!  He's always been an incredible drummer and I knew he'd find the right band.  I believe he's found that band.

Thanks for an evening of great songs and wonderful memories!  We will see you guys when you return to Campbell and we'll be bringing along some friends.

Johnny E. 2/4/04

The Beatles themselves would be proud. The Sun Kings are dedicated to the artistry and feel of the music itself. As a musician and Beatle fanatic, I can tell you they really bring it on home and you shouldn't miss this show.

Dave W. 2/2/04

Hey Lads,

You did it again. The new songs were, to say the least, GREAT! 'It Won't be Long' and 'Hold me Tight' were fabulous. Drew, the Walrus was the best you've ever done it (I would drive from Tracy just for that) and 'Helter Skelter' kicked ass that night. You guys are truly incredible. If Mr. McCartney were to sneak in and observe your show he, too, would have to be impressed. You guys take on songs that no one else would dare to and you do it brilliantly, with ease. It is a night out that compares to none. There is something about the way you put these songs across that sets you apart from all others I have seen and forgotten over the years.
Keep up the good work and we will be forever in your debt for keeping these magnificent songs alive.
God bless you and see you soon.

Lisa W. 2/2/04

Once again, I, Lisa (of the Dave from Tracy gang) am impressed with you Sun Kings! This is my fourth time seeing you lads at the Kings Head in Campbell and I don't think my reviews can top the ones before as you top yourselves everytime I see you. The new songs you did were wonderful and I'm already looking forward to seeing you guys again next month. Everytime you make your way out here to the Kings Head, I will make my way there to see you. You bring a magical night of Beatles music the way that nobody else can. At one point, Drew asked us why we weren't dancing and we said that we just enjoy just sitting, relaxing and listening to the awesome music and your portrayal of it. Drew, you continue to capture Lennon in a way like no other and Michael, your interpretation of Paul is just as amazing. You guys are all great, love seeing you, can't wait to see you again and again and again :-)

Much Love, Lisa (One of the Yoko's)!

Deisty 1/1/04

Blessings and happy new year (even though I usually celebrate new years on october 31) I am home now sipping a glass of champagne.  My little ones are dreaming after all the dancing this evening in Martinez.  I cannot tell you what a miraculous wonderful time we had. Beautiful harmonies, Beautiful, Beautiful.  Momma in the white fuzzy jacket baby in the leopard print son running around everywhere. Momma was having a hard day, grandma sent us to Main Street and there you all were uplifting spirits giving the gift of starting the new year right. Anyway thank you for being there to let a woman dance and sing and smile.

Fern K.12/30/03

The Best Band I know to dance to. THANKS!
Happy New Year!

Brianna 12/20/03

Yeah, you guys are the *hit!  You guys know how to kill it.  You are the BOMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I can't believe how much you sound exactly like the Beatles.  I am wowed by the energy that you provide.  From now on I am a groupie..  Any time that you need me.  I can't live my life without you.  I will be at your every call.

Andrea D. 12/17/03

I you guys at the Grant & Green a while ago and it was fantastic. Everybody got up in a group and put their arms around each other and sang w/the band. It was like a big group and everyone was having a great time. U ppl really have something....I saw Rain in the 80's and u guys sound just as good, if not better. Rock on. I will go see u on the 26th at Grant &Green. You can't help being happy when u guys play.

Leslie R. 12/5/03

Being a lifelong Beatlemaniac myself, I was blown away by your set - particularly the incredibly accurate Lennon vibe. You've SO captured the timbre of his voice, with all the raspy nuances. It was spooky. I was actually in tears during Raul's "While My Guitar..."; it made me miss George all over again. And I adored the Abbey Road stuff. The whole thing was just spectacular.

Bev 9/29/03

I can't tell you enough how much I enjoyed your show at the Cannery yesterday. You guys BLEW ME AWAY with your singing and music playing. I can't get over how much Drew's voice is like John's. I was one of the privilieged/lucky ones that attended the Beatles last live concert at Candlestick Park. So listening to and watching your performance brought back many great memories. I will definitely put out the good word to all the BEATLEMANIACS out there. Thanks again for a wonderful afternoon at the Cannery. Much success to
all of you.

Paul G. 9/29/03

Well, here I sit in the reverie of those darn Sun Kings again. I'm transported back 34 years to my room and on my record player spins a brand new version of Abbey Road. I'm reading the liner notes and then get vicariously stoned with John in "I Want You, (She's So Heavy)" (doesn't everybody?)
I managed to catch the Sun Kings for the second time at the King's Head in Campbell, and hangin' out with the clan "Dave of Tracy", as Drew briefly announced quite late in the show. I believe though that we have now become an extension of the Sun Kings' South Bay "family".

Oh, the review. The Sun Kings are not a cover band. They are artists performing with a fervor and passion that others just aspire to. The sampling of MP3s on their website does not do justice to their phenomenal "real" live sound. You would be wonderfully entertained. They have each obviously embodied the spiritual identities of those musical gods, The Beatles, and even the new guy Tony (Ringo) thrilled us with his superb drum "cadenza" from the segue into "The End" from Abbey Road. (Excellent choice for a new drummer Sun Kings!) In fact, as part of their show, they played almost the entire back side of that album, and really quite flawlessly at that. I sure wish I could get them to do "Because" along with the rest of the medley though, but I know that the harmonies can be pretty difficult. As a fellow musician and closet Beatleholic myself, I can appreciate the Sun Kings hard work.
Mach Schau, boys!

Dave 9/29/03

Hello hello,
Well, there we were again at the Kings Head in Campbell. Another brilliant performance by the 'lads'. They are truly Beatle brilliance and damn nice guys to boot . I came from Tracy with family in tow and they all loved it. Bought another major Beatle fan and family and they were blown away by you all. You do it with such class and detail. And Drew, John Lennon Lives on through you. Thank you for acknowledging our presence. You were truly worth the drive.
Keep it up and we are watching you schedule
Tracy in the house
Dave and family

Albert A. 9/22/03

The Sun Kings, all I can say is WOW. These guys from the Bay area are one of the best if not the very best interpreters of the Fab Four's music this reviewer has ever heard. I had the privilege to hear Beatle Mania performed live and these guys are just as good or better sounding than the show. Keep up the great work. Being a fellow musician I know that it is hard work, t but I know by their sound, that it is just plain fun to these five guys.

Heard the Sun Kings at the Cannery in SF yesterday. OUTSTANDING! They know and deliver the subtleties of the Fab Four. The Beatles music is ageless ...... what a thrill to listen with my 11 and 6 year olds and be energized as if the music was created today ..... just for us. Keep the magic going!

Well, I have just been blown away!  I was channel surfing after a long day's work (Hard Day's Night?), searching for some sign of intelligent life on the airwaves, when I came across you guys on our local access channel.

It was the Music and Market series here in Concord.  I forget which song you were doing when I landed there, but I remember being impressed by the Paul McCartney sounding dude on the keys.  Stuck around for the next couple of songs, then heard the voice of John Lennon coming from a mighty good looking guy on guitar.  Then, when you did Sergeant Pepper, John Lennon turned into Ringo Starr doing Billy Shears!  I am the Walrus was impeccable...I could go on forever!

So impressive, Sun Kings!  I hadn't heard of you before tonight, but I will definitely get the word-of-mouth going in my neck of the woods.  I hope to see you do your thing live sometime soon.

Thanks for the great entertainment!

Hello,
I was fortunate enough to have been in the area to catch your performance at the Cannery last Sunday. Absolutely fantastic...what wonderful memories ! I couldn't believe how much of the lyrics have stayed with me... your effect is still with me as I find myself humming their tunes...

Please continue spreading your joy.

Just want to say I saw you guys at the Kings Head in Campbell last Friday 6/6 and it was incredible. I grew up in England through the Beatles era and I play and sing (limited) Beatle songs. Thought I'd seen it all but honestly, you were great. Live 'I am the Walrus'. I never thought that I would ever see/hear that performed. It was phenomenal. I listened very carefully down to the fade out because I love that song. I closed my eyes and it was the Beatles.(Thank you) Cannot say enough about you guys and I look forward to seeing you perform again. Thanks to you the Beatles music lives on.
Dave A Beatles , now a SunKings fan.
PS My daughters and wife loved you too
